"The Jeff Buckley from Deinze" as Isolde Lasoen nick-named him. Milo Meskens, frontman of the bluesrock band Black Tolex, also is an active solo artist. As singer-songwriter, Milo plays a quirky mix of pop, folk , blues and country music, giving a very distinctive feeling to the atmosphere, both intense and intimate. On April 19 2014, he released an impressive first album "Running After Yesterday" in the Kinky Star. After his selection for Humo's Rock Rally 2014, he started for "real" with the ambition of following his heroes' footsteps: John Mayer, Jeff Buckley, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bob Dylan amongst others. Winner of Imagine Belgium 2014, he is going to compete for the international award in June. For a 19 years old young man, Milo has great stage experience he can rely on to seduce the jury: within the same year, he played three times at one of Brussels most famous rehearsals, the Ancienne Belgique, won the Belgian Exposure Music Awards and went all the way to the final of De Nieuwe Lichting, a particularly well known Flemish springboard.
